We are pleased to announce the addition of Atrial Fibrillation – Rhythm Control to our TreatGx medication decision support software. The Atrial Fibrillation – Rhythm Control algorithm can now be accessed by all TreatGx users.
This algorithm provides long term medication treatment options for the maintenance of sinus rhythm in those with non-permanent atrial fibrillation. TreatGx offers personalized medication treatment options for each patient based on whether they have another heart condition or not, including those with coronary artery disease, heart failure with preserved ejection fraction and heart failure with reduced ejection fraction.
In addition to providing personalized dosing based on pharmacogenetics, kidney function and liver function, the Atrial fibrillation – Rhythm control algorithm also provides monitoring information and details regarding how to use electrocardiogram results to assess the safety of initiating and continuing the antiarrhythmic medications.
This algorithm is based on the latest local and international treatment guidelines for atrial fibrillation, including the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology Foundation and Heart Rhythm Society 2014 guideline[1], the Canadian Cardiovascular Society and Canadian Heart Rhythm Society 2020 guideline[2], and the European Society of Cardiology 2020 guideline[3].
